Making New Directories

Creating a directory in WebSpinner is very similiar to creating a new file.

The information that goes in the Directory Name field is the name of your directory as it will appear in the Unix inforM directory and as part of the URL for your web site. This directory name must be one word in length, but may use periods, hyphens, pluses, or underscores.
Do not use spaces in the name of your directory, it will NOT display on the web if you do.

Underneath this is a series of choices regarding the style of the page. Specifically, you can choose whether or not you want WebSpinner to modify the index.html of the directory file to include attributes of the standard inforM system pages.

Also, you can have Web Spinner update the index.html file of the directory you are currently in, adding the new subdirectory (if you are using the index.html as an "index" of your site and it must have been created by WebSpinner - see the PREFS button for more information).

Finally, click the Make Directory button to add the new directory.

After WebSpinner creates your directory, you will be returned to the main screen with an updated file box and a message saying your directory has been added. You can then continue your work.
